I fell in love with her courage, her sincerity, and her flaming self respect. And it’s these things I’d believe in, even if the whole world indulged in wild suspicions that she wasn’t all she should be. I love her and that’s the beginning and the end of everything.

The 6 rules to being a lady that Minnie Sayre tried to teach Zelda (and Zelda broke everyone of them)
- No lady ever sat with her limbs crossed.
- Young ladies said limbs instead of the crude four-letter word legs.
- Ladies’ backs did not touch the backs of chairs.
- Ladies never went out without…

“I see,” she quietly remarked, gently nodding her head. Zelda enjoyed traveling, but she always remembered her roots in Alabama, or she was constantly reminded by her accent. “So you’ve finally settled down,” she chuckled.
“It seems so,” He chuckled warmly, shaking his head. “I never thought I would; I mean, after I… lost the remainder of the Reeds family, I didn’t want to return to that part of England; in fact, I didn’t want to return to England at all if I could help it. So travelling was the way I went.”
“Wait a minute,” Zelda interrupted holding her hand out in front of her. “You lost your family? I’m so sorry dear.” For a moment she considered hugging him, but the idea quickly dissipated. “I…I could never imagine.”
“I take it you’re not from here then, lovely?” He asked curiously, smiling somewhat; after all, he’d wandered the entirety of the Earth in the centuries he’d lived.
“No, actually. I’m from Alabama,” she truthfully told him, her eyes wandering, observing her surroundings. “I’ve been to New York a couple of times, but I’ve still yet to learn the…quirks of this place.”
“Ah, Alabama! Haven’t been there in a few years.” Not since the 1920s, he assumed; he lost track more often than not. “I used to travel copious amounts with my profession, going from town to town, city to city with my work as opposed to remaining situated like now.” He confirmed with a smile.
